Overcome your challenges, know yourself better and be the best you can be.

mona-3-600

I became a counsellor/therapist because I like to help people overcome their challenges and be the best they can be.

I love witnessing my clients taking ownership of their own lives, knowing themselves better and having the courage to overcome their challenges.

Once people overcome the areas in their lives where they are stuck, they are able to move forward.

I empower people to communicate effectively so that they can be in harmony with themselves and with others.

I help people overcome such challenges as depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, transitions and adjustments to new situations - including special services for immigrants and refugees.

I offer counselling services in English, Arabic and Amharic (Ethiopian)

My Experience & Credentials

I have a Masters of Counselling from Trinity Western University and over 15 years of experience.

My counselling career began when I started volunteering in street ministry helping prostitutes and people with addictions feel appreciated and loved.

I realized that being a counsellor/therapist made a difference in people’s lives, so I decided to pursue formal training and worked towards getting my masters in counselling.

In the meantime, I worked at a women’s recovery home, and in women’s transition homes.

I learned that clients need someone they can trust who is not a family member, because they can open up and find solutions to their problems.

I care because I have seen broken people find healing and blossom in the process. I get excited when I see this happen.

The MISSION of my business to help clients overcome their challenges, know themselves better and be the best they can be.

My Story

I have overcome many of my own personal challenges including studying abroad as a student, immigrating to Canada and adjusting to a new culture.

I am Egyptian, born in Ethiopia and had my post secondary education in England.

After the revolution in Ethiopia I decided to immigrate to Canada.

It was not easy but I had a lot of support along the way. I have seen and heard of people being displaced through persecution, financial difficulties and wars.

Between my own personal journey and my heart for people who are struggling to adjust to a new country and culture, I feel that I understand and know how to help clients overcome trauma, depression, anxiety, childhood issues, phobias, and many other issues in order to free themselves and be the best they can be.

My Values & Beliefs

My core values are compassion, integrity, optimism, genuineness and dedication.

I believe there is good in all people and there is potential in all people

I want to live in a world where there is justice for all human beings, where people are allowed to be in touch with their own inner wisdom and where they treat everyone with respect and compassion.
